Zither student Mara Vieider uses musical means to explore emotional relationships to trees and flowers in her master's concert "Baumseelen". In addition to the titular work by Peter Hamel, she plays Peter Kiesewetter's "Shoshanim" (Hebrew: lilies) for viola and zither, a composition that refers to the biblical love poetry of the Song of Songs, and various "character pieces" of the 19th century that are often dedicated to idylls of nature.
