Galerie Handwerk München
Handwerkskammer für München und Oberbayern, Galerie Handwerk

In its exhibition, Galerie Handwerk would like to present a large, lush bouquet of flowers for visitors to stroll through and enjoy. International artists and artisans use glass, ceramics, metal, paper, textiles, wax and fashion and jewellery to explore the theme of the flower, drawing on the natural model either faithfully or in variations. The exhibition includes many works by French designers who work for fashion and interior design. For this reason, a special emphasis is placed on these exhibits with and in a German-French guided tour – on embroidery, feather and paper works, artificial flowers, headdresses, trimmings and the like.

With seven annual exhibitions, the Galerie Handwerk gives the Arts & Crafts culture a clear presence in Munich. The themes correspond to the variety of tasks that crafts perform in culture and society: the spectrum ranges from applied arts and crafts to crafts and architecture, crafts in the preservation of monuments, to design training and teaching concepts in crafts. Traditional, classic and avant-garde approaches are presented. The exhibitions at Galerie Handwerk are national and international in scope. It thus makes a significant contribution to communicating and preserving handicraft culture worldwide.
