Elizabeth, a young English woman, has persuaded her German husband to move to the country with her and their three babies. There she throws herself passionately into the planning of replanting the estate garden. Every day new ideas sprout in her head and thus also in her wonderful garden. Dandelions and a love of life! Her wild enthusiasm for everything outdoors that grows, smells and blossoms helps her escape the conventions she is subjected to.

The desire to dig in the dark earth and pick up a spade herself is great. But at the end of the 19th century, this is not what a young woman is supposed to do. Nor does her irate husband share her passion. To make matters worse, two visitors (who have their own quirks) have announced themselves. Humorous, cheeky and sharp-tongued, Elizabeth von Arnim portrays the life of her time and a very special love.

Players will be handed out at the meeting point. Afterwards there is time for questions and exchange.

Theater Mathilde Westend

Probably the smallest theater in the city (14.35 square meters) is no longer an insider tip. Since the opening and premiere with Barbara Kappen's "Der Liebesbeweis" on May 07, 2015, the founder Theresa Hanich regularly invites to new plays and events conceived by her. Theresa Hanich named the theater after her grandmother Mathilde, who was also an actress.
