Visitors interested in art are cordially invited to the opening of the exhibitions by Sheila Furlan and Dieter Kränzlein. Dr. Carolin Koch, art historian, will speak.
Sheila Furlan's objects, installations and photographs emerge from a conceptual process. As a representative of modern textile art, she creates objects that play with space, time and levels of action. Her distinctive feature lies in the material she uses: the transparent, fragile but robust silk, with which she exploits the sculptural potential, and the incorporated natural materials.
Dieter Kränzlein has been working intensively with the materials shell limestone and marble for decades. He works the surface of the stone in the first step with the flex, giving it shape and texture. The destructive nature of the cutting wheel, the atomization of the material provide the shell limestone and marble with a new existence in a reality parallel to nature.
