With the Landscape Laboratory, Fanny Brandauer creates a stage-like environment that can be walked through and experienced, which suggests scientificity through its aesthetics – and consciously plays with it. The installative work unites the fundamentals and methods of landscape science (vegetation ecology, plant sociology, botany) with artistic experimentation. Like a laboratory sample, landscape is dissected into its components, analyzed, systematized, and made tangible to the senses in the interior space.
