Their appearance is enchanting, their legs partly boundless, their stance graceful, their delicate bodies wrapped in colourful it-pieces of the season. They pose glamorously in front of the camera.

Natalie Strohmaier's photo series "Germany`s Next Topflower" thematises the artificial creation of beauty and desire and offers an aesthetic satire on the fashion industry.

The photo artist's models are flowers and plant parts photographically staged. They show the tension of socially produced role models between naturalness and artificiality as well as their transience. In order to emphasise the uniqueness of the models and their exaggerated ideal of beauty, "mass-produced flowers" are deliberately avoided in the creation of the photographs. In some of the pictures, the plant creatures are almost human-sized and fascinate with their size, elegance and simple attention to detail.

KUNSTLABOR 2

With nearly 10,000 square meters of space on six floors and an additional 6,800 square meters of outdoor space, the former health care building offers room for a variety of concepts. Within the one-year construction phase, MUCA transformed the old building into a new center for art and culture. The project name "KUNSTLABOR 2" ties in with the great success of its predecessor.
