Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell planed the first botanical garden in Munich at the beginning of the 19th century. The walk connects garden design, architecture, art and social life from its beginnings to the present day. The Old Botanical Garden has contributed to Munich's reputation as a city of art and culture.

The legendary Glass Palace once stood here. Oskar von Miller, the founder of the Deutsches Museum, undertook pioneering experiments. Exotic trees from faraway countries can be discovered. The question of how to deal with the garden monument today is clarified.
