Plants that are referred to as "weeds" are often not very popular. Judith Kaminski takes a closer look at these plants. Her paintings, which are all based on botanical illustrations of supposed weeds, lure with their trendy color and form language and are an invitation to immerse in her pictorial world. With her artistic-scientific view of plants, the Judith Kaminski encourages reflection on weeds, so that after the exhibition the vistors might take a closer look if they spot weeds by the wayside or in their gardens.
Judith Kaminski (*1994) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Münster and currently lives and works in Wuppertal. Her works have been exhibited in art associations and museums in Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin and are represented in private and public collections.
