The initiators and architects of the 1972 Olympic Games wanted the Games to convey values: Tolerance, openness to the world, democracy, participation, social awakening. These ideas determined the design of the site, the course of the Games themselves and the actions surrounding the Games.
Some of it forgotten, much has become commonplace and seemingly taken for granted. The tour uncovers the "built ideas of 1972" and shows that they are fundamental to living together today.
The tour runs along the waterfront of the Nymphenburg-Biedersteiner Canal, which was rebuilt for this purpose in 1972 and feeds the park's waterscape.
