Viewing wild plants and the earth that produces them not only as an interplay in nature, but also as an artistic interplay – this is what Munich artists Bettina Lindenberg and Monika Lokau have joined forces for.

In the "Wild Growth" exhibition, Bettina Lindenberg shows grace and transience with her delicate, monochrome plant paintings – an unusual view of the wild carrot, the cardoon or the yarrow. The motifs, printed on fine lengths of fabric, show the special aesthetics of the plant structures, some of which appear almost abstract, in large format.

Monika Lokau dedicates herself to the element earth as an art form. Inspired by organic, plant structures, she reflects their interesting impression with earth painting on canvas. The result is images that challenge the viewer again and again the comparative view between the plant photographs and the image compositions painted with earth.
