Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Umwelt und Verbraucherschutz
The Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection (StMUV) was the first ministry for environment worldwide. It was established in 1970. For more than twenty years, consumer protection in Bavaria has also had its own ministery.
The StMUV is a cross-sectional ministry, serving the following areas: climate change, water and geology, nature conservancy and landscape management, consumer protection, food saftey, animal protection, recycling management and nuclear energy.
