When reflecting on 1968 and its consequences, it seems puzzling at first glance that a movement that wanted to change a violent world for the better eventually gave rise to terrorist groups. How could such radicalization processes come about? And does this history still have something to tell us today? Hasn't everything essential been known about the RAF for a long time? The lecture strives for new, fresh perspectives on the history of left-wing violence in the "red decade". In doing so, the speaker not only tries to focus more on the victims, but also challenges the widespread view that the "Baader-Meinhof complex" can be told as a purely German story.
