In her work, the freelance artist examines natural structures and surface textures. Complexity, form and color of natural materials are at the center of the work. Cratered landscape or damaged masonry? Tree bark or cracked earth? Organic through the microscope or landscape seen from a bird's eye view? The artist's gaze shows how structures resemble each other on both a small and large scale and form painterly connections. In her works she allows us to discover the fragile beauty of the ephemeral, damaged and imperfect.
Elli Hurst experiments with different techniques, uses chemical reactions as a design element, reacts to randomness and reworks the painting surface in many phases layer by layer. By linking painting with organic found objects or collected things, multi-layered collages are created that are both surprising and profound.
The public vernissage will take place on 15.03.2023 at 19:00.
