The forest is one of the most fascinating ecosystems in the world. Besides the many animals and plants it is home to, it serves as a source of raw materials and a place of recreation. In addition, by filtering the air of fine particles and producing oxygen, the forest makes a significant contribution to purifying the air. On this evening, the forest habitat becomes the silent protagonist in order to draw attention to the issue of forest protection in Germany.
Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" has been reimagined for this purpose. In addition, Prof. Harald Lesch will speak about the scientific aspects of the forest ecosystem and the importance of forest protection. The musical concept includes Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy'smusic for "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and Fanny Hensel's "Faust II" and "Waldruhe". The orchestra will also premiere two new compositions: The craftsman music "Ein Hoch" by Theresa Zaremba and "Liebe" by Lukas Maier.
