In the middle of the moraine landscape west of the Ammersee lies Sankt Ottilien with its abbey church. Elisabeth Tratter shows the great botanical diversity of this area: moisture-loving tall herbaceous meadows with meadowsweet and loosestrife, open, stony soils with colorful vegetation and a densely overgrown pond to linger. Poppies and cornflowers shine in the fields (walking distance about 9 km).

The Munich Volkshochschule (MVHS) is the largest adult education center in Germany and was founded at the end of the 19th century. Its program for the state capital of Munich and the municipality of Grünwald in the south of Munich includes around 18,000 courses, lectures, seminars, excursions, exhibitions and cultural events each year, with around 270,000 participants.
