For thousands of Munich residents, the major event "Tanz den Gasteig" is a cult event: people dance on the various stages, in all rooms and on all seats of the Gasteig HP8 on this day. From swing to salsa to breakdance, there is something for every age and taste. This year the focus is on everything that has to do with flower power: music from the 70s, but also songs and compositions that take up themes such as flowers or nature acoustically – the possibilities are almost endless.

The Gasteig Cultural Foundation was established in 2006 as a non-profit foundation in the trusteeship of Gasteig München GmbH. The funding focuses on projects and programmes that serve the Gasteig’s vision: “Culture and education for all”. Above all, the foundation supports projects and measures that comply with the idea of the Gasteig as a democratic institution, enable low-threshold access and bring together people from different walks of life.
