During the course of the Flower Power Festival, the Curt Wills Foundation presented various exhibitions and artists in the Container Collective in the Munich Werksviertel. Now all these artists come together again and show their very own interpretations of the flower wreath at the last exhibition there as part of the festival. The circle closes in the truest sense of the word.
The flower-braided wreath has a long tradition, both in art history and in social life, dating back to ancient times. It is still worn today on a wide variety of occasions, given as a gift or hung on the door. It should welcome guests or embody farewell, keep evil spirits away or serve as jewelry on special occasions. Wreaths of flowers delight the heart and take on countless shapes and colours. How do artists see this traditional subject? And how do they perhaps reinterpret it? This exhibition, curated by Miriam Ferstl, follows this approach.
At the vernissage on September 24th at 11:00 a.m. many of the artists will be present.
