The exhibition "Ikebana'na" is dedicated to the abstract representation of flowers and plants. The title of the exhibition, "Ikebana'na", is an ironically modified term from the Japanese art of flower arranging, Ikebana. In her paintings and objects, Heike Hengstler interprets the Ikebana formal language in a very individual way: geometric flowers with bright colour accents on paintings and objects. Her works are decidedly a homage to the art form of Ikebana.

Design all-rounder Heike Hengstler is exhibiting her own work at Kunstraum ED-8, mainly in the fields of object and lighting design. She approaches her main theme, upcycling, from surprising and unorthodox angles. Subtle artistic modifications transform apparent ready-mades into exciting and original art objects.
