This planet is drowning in waste. Worldwide, mankind dumps 3.5 million tonnes every day. So Juli Gudehus cut waste. She reassembled it and thus made it blossom.

Brandelion, Detergentian, Forget-me-net and Teat Flower are part of a whole new flora. While being fascinated by the diversity of innovation and design in ever never products Juli Gudehus is painfully aware of the environmental aspects. Bottles, cans, cups, caps, tubes, nets and the like: all components of her collages are officially meant to be recycled. While enjoying to recognize some familiar pieces from your own everyday life, discomfort may arise.

It is no coincidence that the the photos exhibited recall the still lifes of the old masters. Those alluded to the transience of all life. Juli Gudehus, though, makes us think of the permanence of today‘s human remains. What is more, she reveals the latent knowledge of product design and brands, which for most, by far exceeds their knowledge of herbs, flowers and trees.
