Innovative wood-based technologies and products can make an important contribution to a sustainable economy, especially today. In addition to well-known applications, innovative products such as carbon fibers made of wood as well as related services are emerging. However, a number of prerequisites still need to be met for the implementation of a sustainable, circular and climate-resilient bioeconomy. Bioeconomy refers to an economy based on renewable raw materials and biologically inspired processes and procedures. It can help to achieve global goals in climate protection, resource efficiency and food supply. Goals as also formulated in the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
At this dialog event, we will explore these questions: What are the innovations in wood-based bioeconomy? How can these diverse expectations of a wood-based bioeconomy be met on the basis of a trade-off between "protect and utilize"?
