Joy 2022

By Michiel Vandevelde and Team
Nine tableaux about intimacy and desire outline a portait of what a joyful queer life might look like.

Theatre & Dance
Münchner Kammerspiele

Our human sexuality is as diverse as a sea of flowers. A good half century after the "Summer of Love" and the promises of a sexual revolution, ensemble members of the Münchner Kammerspiele and actors from the sex positivity scene explore today's understanding of intimacy together with choreographer Michiel Vandevelde. In a sensually gentle composition of movement, text, sexual practices and art-historical references such as (Tiktok) sounds, playful tableaus emerge that outline what a joyful queer life could look like. Whether "sex-positive" or "sex-questioning": Joy 2022 wants to celebrate perceptions about bodily pleasure, desires and fantasies in their multi-perspectivity.

A production of the Münchner Kammerspiele, co-production of the Wiener Festwochen.
