Since the beginning of April, an experiment has been taking place at the Kulturhaus Milbertshofen: The areas that were completely overgrown with ivy and wild vine were and are being cleared. A seed mixture of wildflowers from the Munich gravel plain was spread on the open areas. Citizens placedold perennial plants such as phlox, peonies, daylilies, Christmas roses, spring bloomers and herbs. All plants must be drought resistant and hardy. In winter, the flowered stems are left standing. The hope is that insects will find habitat there. In the back of the paved courtyard, controlled growths such as golden yarrow, summer lilac, rock carnation, field delphinium, and scabiosa grow from the slab cracks.
During events, the areas can be walked on. Knotted plants are simply removed. New ones grow back. Visitors are welcome. They can see this experiment during a trip to the Kulturhaus Milbertshofen in early summer.
